I am a developmental editor who works with writers of academic journal articles, nonfiction book proposals, and nonfiction book manuscripts. I offer supportive, actionable feedback on structure, argumentation, and meeting audience expectations to help you achieve the level of polish and professionalism you want for your work.
My Services
For this service, send me your journal article draft, book chapter, or nonfiction book proposal (up to 8,000 words), and I will respond with some manuscript comments and a one-to-two-page report with big-picture revision suggestions. This is not a line-editing or copy-editing service but instead focuses on the clarity and cohesion of your project. After you receive the written feedback, we will have a thirty-minute Zoom meeting to review it. The fee for a journal article / book chapter / book proposal review is $150. An additional $25 fee will be incurred for every 1,000 words over 8,000.
This service is for people with a draft or partial draft of a nonfiction book manuscript (up to 80,000 words). We’ll start with a free consult over Zoom (30-45 minutes) to discuss the project and your goals. If you’d like to work with me as your developmental editor, I will carefully read your manuscript and write up a detailed editorial report (5-10 pages) noting the project’s strengths and areas for revisions such as filling in gaps in reasoning, narrowing down or adding evidence, and restructuring to strengthen the power of your argument. I will also send you a marked up copy of your manuscript with sentence-level and paragraph-level comments on structure, argumentation, and clarity. After you receive my written feedback, we’ll have a call to talk it through and address any questions you have. This service package costs $1000.
If you would like additional support after receiving feedback on a project, you can book one-on-one coaching sessions with me for accountability, troubleshooting, and live feedback on manuscript revisions. The fee is $50 per half-hour coaching session. You can pre-book three half-hour sessions for a discounted rate of $125.
